Central Kalimantan Province is classified as one of the provinces with the largest coal resources and reserves in Indonesia. Furthermore, the coal found in many areas in Central Kalimantan falls into the metallurgical coal category.
Geological Agency data for the year 2022 shows that Central Kalimantan Province’s coal resources and reserves reached 8,418.8 million tons, while its metallurgical coal reserves reached 2,440.2 million tons.
In terms of production, Central Kalimantan Province is capable of producing 22.9 million tons, surpassing the production levels of 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
